Zero Four

Air School

Based at Margate Airport on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, only 120km south from Durban, Zero Four Air School offers aeroplane pilot training in a Piper Cherokee PA 28-180 aircraft.

Margate Airport is an “advisory airspace” and has minimal traffic which therefore provides the perfect opportunity for efficient use of flying time on the ground, in the airspace and in the General Flying Area for students.

Basic requirements for your Student Pilot License:

  • You must be 16 years or older
  • English proficiency, both Verbal and Written
  • Good Health
  • Self Discipline

A Matric Certificate is not a pre-requisite to obtain a pilots license in South Africa, however background knowledge in subjects such as mathematics, physical science and geography would be an asset, as they are subjects which form the basis of modules: Aerodynamics, Principles of Flight, Flight Planning, Meteorology and Navigation.
